Once installed, you can easily remove the case lid by simply sliding the mechanism in the fixings to release the grip. - The item being sold isn't actually the hinges, it is the fixings to secure the hinge in place. The naming is slightly inaccurate in that respect. The hinges themselves are supplied with the case and remain attached to the lid once removed.
